Xi’an and Kunming, China - 2008
At one time the largest city in the world, Xian is an excellent example of imperial splendor and served as the capital of 11 dynasties. The 1974 discovery of the astonishing burial site of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi (third century B.C.) makes
Xian a must-see cultural landmark.
Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, is a 2000 year old modern, yet picturesque, city in the south of China. Its sub-tropical climate and continual blooming of flowers give Kunming the name “City of Eternal Spring.” Its people are known for their varied and exotic habits and customs, and the city is filled with historical artifacts, places of cultural interest, and uniquely landscaped gardens.
