Kruger National Park, South Africa – 2007
Founded in 1898 by a group of dedicated preservationists, Kruger
National Park now encompasses nearly 12,000 square miles of wildlife
safari country and supports more than 800 species of animals in their
natural habitats. Here, you’ll explore the world as created by nature,
not by man. Enter an entirely different world from the metropolitan
centers you’ve seen and experience its magical serenity. Enjoy the
change of scenery as the landscape transforms in African savannah or “bushveld.”

Day One –
Introduction to Kruger National Park
Fly from Cape Town to Johannesburg before venturing overland to
Kruger National Park, one of the world’s unsurpassed wildlife
sanctuaries. With a late afternoon arrival, you’ll still have plenty
of time for a relaxing dinner.
Day Two – Game Viewing in the Wilds
Early morning is the ideal time to watch and photograph the animals
as they feed before the heat of the day. Enjoy the exotic plant and
animal life under the beautiful dawning light. You’ll be amazed at
how many animals blend into their surroundings.
The rivers may reveal massive lazy hippos and steel-jawed
crocodiles. Your guide will help you spot some or all of the “big five,”
including the lion, Cape buffalo, rhinoceros, leopard and elephant.
You’ll need no help, however, locating the ever-present giraffe,
zebra, kudu, impala and warthog.

Day Three – Wildlife Observation
Another early morning ensures prime viewing of the park’s exotic species
and beautiful landscape. You’re sure to notice an abundance of colorful
bird life throughout the park.
Your guide will assist you again in finding some or all of the “big five”
and other rare and extraordinary wildlife, including a cross-section of
birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
Day Four – Return Home
Return home, via Johannesburg.
